Our Goal

getmoneysmarts.org is a product of the Montana Guaranteed Student Loan Program. The goal of the site is to provide you with financial skills and tools that will assist you in becoming financially savvy. While the site is generally geared towards college students and recent college graduates, most of the tools are useful at any point in life. In a contracting or slowing economic environment, managing personal finances closely can be a critical task in a household. We intend for this website to be a one stop tool box for money management resources. In many cases we will link to outside sites for in-depth tools and up-to-date information and topics. We welcome feedback and suggestion on how to make this site more useful to you.

About the Montana Guaranteed Student Loan Program

The Montana Guaranteed Student Loan Program (MGSLP) is a program within the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE).  Our mission is to provide access to higher education to all Montana residents.

As the designated guarantor our services include: default prevention, financial literacy training, and general customer service.  We serve as a resource for those seeking information regarding the financial aid process and we provide the administration of scholarship programs such as the Governor's Best and Brightest Scholarship and the MUS Honor Scholarship.
